Our Discover India itinerary efficiently reflects the diverse aspects of India. It is an explorative tour that allows you to have a closer look at the history, culture, architecture, fashion, art and folklore in both the ancient and modern times. India has always been quoted in words for the mysterious ways of the people, their lifestyles and its inseparable culture.

Itinerary

Day 01 - Arrive Delhi

On arrival in Delhi, you’ll be met by your Indus Bound Representative and transferred to your hotel, where you’ll be staying for two nights. Spend the remainder of the day recovering from your journey, and perhaps a stroll around the local neighborhood later.


Day 02 - In Delhi

Explore Delhi today starting with Old Delhi in the morning: enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride in the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk followed by the Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. In the afternoon, drive past Lutyens's New Delhi and visit the tomb of Humayun and the Qutab Minar. Spend some time at the Bangla Sahib Sikh Temple for blessings and see & participate in the community kitchen.

Day 03 - Drive to Jaipur

Leave for Jaipur today (05-06 Hrs). Spend rest of your day at leisure or explore neighborhood with your driver.


Day 04 - In Jaipur

Enjoy a full day’s sightseeing in Jaipur today, beginning with a trip out to Amber, followed by the Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar Observatory and world-famous City Palace museum. Enjoy a local market walk to explore the way of life here.


Day 05 - Drive to Agra

Morning drive to Agra(05-06 Hrs). Closer to Jaipur you would stop at the impressive 9th century step well at Abhaneri. Heading towards Agra, you would be visiting the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri enroute.


Day 06 - In Agra

An early start this morning, but worth it for sunrise views of the Taj Mahal. It's also the quietest time to visit, before the crowds arrive. Return back to your hotel and later proceed for your city tour of Agra, including visit to the impressive Agra Fort, a mix of Hindu and Islamic architecture followed by a visit to the ornate tomb of Itamud-ud-Daulah.

Day 07 - Train to Lucknow

Morning Indian train ride awaits and takes us to the historic and culturally rich city of Lucknow. Spend your rest of the day at leisure.

Day 08 - In Lucknow

In the morning visit the Residency Complex, site of the infamous siege of 1857 which was one of the first revolts against the British authorities. We also visit the Dilkusha Gardens and La Martinière university. Continue our sightseeing tour of the city with visits to the Islamic Imambara shrine and Romi Darwaja city gate. Round off the day exploring Lucknow's colourful bazaars.


Day 09 - Train to Varanasi

Morning train to Varanasi. This evening in the Holy City of Varanasi, enjoy a private boat ride along the river Ganges where you can witness the evening pooja (prayer) and aarti ceremony. Candles and offerings fill the river and people fill the ghats - it's a fascinating spectacle.


Day 10 - In Varanasi

Enjoy another boat ride this morning to see the contrasts of life on the river. Along the banks you'll see pilgrims and locals washing, socialising and praying. You will most likely also see riverside cremations taking place. From here, go for a walking tour exploring the markets, small streets and endless temples. In the afternoon, enjoy a excursion trip to Sarnath.

Day 11 - Fly to Kolkata

Take a flight to Kolkata. Rest of the day at leisure to relax or pursue independent activities


Day 12 - In Kolkata

A full day is spent exploring Kolkata starting off with an early morning visit to the colourful flower market followed by a boat ride on the Hooghly River. The afternoon's sightseeing includes the Victoria Memorial, St Paul's Cathedral and the Indian Museum.

Day 13 - Fly to Mumbai

Morning flight to Mumbai. Spend leisure time at your hotel.

Day 14 - In Mumbai

Full Day tour visiting, Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum & other important sights. Get ready for an experience to see and meet the Dabbawala. A Dabbawala literally meaning "box person", is a person in Mumbai, who is employed in a unique service industry, whose primary business is collecting freshly cooked food in lunch boxes from the residences of the office workers. Evening visit to Crawford Market, the city’s principal source of fresh produce


Day 15 - Departure Transfer

At time transferred to Mumbai Airport for your flight back home, or continue with your onward journey with us
