Itinerary

Day 01 - Arrive Delhi

On arrival in Delhi, you’ll be met by your Indus Bound Representative and transferred to your hotel, where you’ll be staying for a night. Spend the remainder of the day recovering from your journey, and perhaps a stroll around the local neighborhood later.


Day 02 - Fly to Paro & Drive to Thimpu

This morning you will fly to Paro. On arrival, you will be met by your guide and driver and make the short journey to Thimphu (01-02 Hrs). Along the way you'll visit the Simtokha Dzong, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan.


Day 03 - In Thimpu

Begin your day of sightseeing at the Tibetan inspired National Memorial Chorten. Other places of interest include the National Library and the National Institute for Zorig Chusum - a school that teaches Bhutan's traditional painting.


Day 04 - Drive to Punakha

Travel by road to Punakha (02-03 Hrs), over the Dochu La pass offering stunning views. You can also visit the Chimi Lhakhang temple before reaching Punakha. Spend your afternoon at your hotel at leisure. 


Day 05 - In Punakha

After breakfast, visit the Punakha Dzong. Completed in 1638 AD the Dzong features numerous chapels and temples within its walls. Standing nearly 200 metres long and six storeys high the dzong is unique in having three courtyards rather than the normal two. You'll spend another evening in Punakha.


Day 06 - Drive to Paro

This morning leave Punakha and return to Paro (02-03 Hrs) the gateway of Bhutan. Once again traverse the Dochu-La pass and continue past Thimphu and return to Paro. In the afternoon you can visit Paro Dzong and the national museum.


Day 07 - In Paro

Rise early to make the steep climb to the magnificent Tiger's Nest Monastery. A major pilgrimage site for the Bhutanese. Taktsang, or ‘Tiger's Nest’, is spectacularly located 900 meters above the valley floor perched on the edge of a cliff. The views throughout the walk, are not only panoramic but also spectacular. This afternoon visit Drukgyel Dzong, a ruined fortress and temple. It's an interesting contrast to more well-preserved sites you will have already seen.


Day 08 - Fly to Delhi

Fly back to Delhi & connect for your flight back home, or continue with your onward journey with us.
