House of MG, Ahmedabad
MID RANGE, HERITAGE
The House of MG, along with its two annexes, is undoubtedly the premier destination for accommodation in the historic walled city of Ahmedabad. This distinguished heritage property, originally constructed in 1924, served as the private residence of a textile merchant. It was here that Mahatma Gandhi resided upon his return from South Africa in 1917.
Transformed into a charming boutique hotel, this delightful establishment has been meticulously updated to cater to the essential requirements of contemporary travelers, while the original features have been carefully restored to preserve the hotel's old-world charm. The main hotel spans three floors and provides lodging in 38 uniquely decorated rooms and suites that exude a homely atmosphere; additionally, two annexes, located approximately a mile from the main building, contain six and two rooms respectively.
At The House of MG, guests can savor delicious, authentic Gujarati cuisine at the main restaurant, while the Café offers both Gujarati dishes and a selection of Indian vegetarian and Continental options. Other amenities include an indoor swimming pool, a small gym, a spa, and a gallery dedicated to traditional textiles.
