Commonly referred to as the Dutch Palace, the Mattancherry Palace is a Portuguese structure that currently serves as a museum showcasing artifacts associated with the Kings of Kochi. The palace consists of four distinct wings that encircle a central courtyard, which also features a temple.

According to legends, the introduction of Chinese fishing nets in Kerala dates back to ancient times, attributed to a gift from the renowned Chinese ruler, Kublai Khan.
