Things to do in Kaziranga National Park
Set on the banks of the Brahmaputra River in the state of Assam, Kaziranga is famed for its population of Indian one-horned rhinoceros; around two-thirds of the world’s population is found here. Wildlife spotting is often by elephant-back and the rhinos are said to have become accustomed to tourist-carrying elephants. Aside from rhinos look out for swamp deer, wild buffalo and many water bird species. The best time to visit is between November and April.
